I Am From

I am not from a world of certainty
Where nights aren't for sleeping
And days aren't for working
When people smile in times of desperation
When loyalty isn't at its best
And love is put to rest
Where relationships aren't as important
But it feels I'm not apart
Because this place isn't where you want to start
A world like this is all around actively worn out
People tolerate it because it's follwed by the crowd
I am from my own little world
Where people don't understand
And child play is kind of banned
I can count on consistency
Respect at its most
But bad attitudes got to go
Where the mindset is prettier than the face itself
And the money is all that is being chased
I am from the islands
As some people may say
Only because that is where the most acceptable females stay
Although I'm not from a place of negativity
It is surrounds all around me

  8. Angela,
Great job on your poem!I found it most interesting that you identify all the negativity around you but at the end you state that it is not who you are.
