Real Friends?

What makes a real friend? To be considered a real friend, should one have to follow certain guidelines? Should real friends stick up for each other and help in the time of need? I feel as if no matter what the problem is, a real friend should always listen without judging. A shoulder to cry on should always be available for one who needs it. The friendship should consist of integrity as well as commitment. Real friends should take care of each other by being there for one another for the good times as well as the bad times. When it is time to vent, real friends always come and listen. Real friend should always keep secret for one another, but not from one another. There are exceptions where a real friend could lie so that the other doesn't get in trouble. However, if there is a major problem going on, real friends shouldn't lie and help the best to their ability. Each other's love and loyalty can not be questioned if it is real.
